Hi folks! I'm trying to find example resumes/CVs for gamedev roles. I'm specially interested in how to highlight the games you've worked on

I come from software and my resumes have always been mostly text. So I have no idea about how to add screenshots and how to make those appealing for the reader 😅

Mostly interested in examples, but tips are also welcomed!

🔁 Boost for reach is appreciated ❤️

@nepo To be honest, after 21 years in game dev I have never once put a screenshot in a resume; they're purely text. I don't recall ever seeing one in the applicant resumes I reviewed either.

I'm inclined to say that belongs in a portfolio that you link to instead.

@CareLevelZero Thanks! I was confused when I was asked to add screenshots to my resume. This actually clears it up a bit! I'll work on a portfolio and link it in the resume 😄

@nepo I also have never used screenshots in a CV; sometimes I've put them in cover letters for specific examples but in general I also have a portfolio website that links to the pages of games I've worked on.

The only discipline you really need a portfolio of images for (in my experience) is something art related like 3D modelling because folks will want to see the wireframes. Depending on which area of gamedev you're applying for the company/person might want to see some specific examples.

@nepo For example, if you're applying for a gameplay position having a linkable itch.io game demo that showcases your work is much better than a screenshot; just make sure you call attention to it. ;)
