When I was a teenager my parents entrusted me with buying their weekly lotto ticket numbers. I always kept the money and spent it on cigarettes, beer etc. Every Saturday night my parents watched the lotto hoping their numbers would come up and I watched it praying they wouldn't!
@fesshole This sounds like a fascinating scenario for law school.
@scy @fesshole It really does...
@scy @fesshole or a proctology doctor ..
@fesshole Cigarettes, eh? Maybe lumg cancer will get ya. Sounds fair to me! IDIOT.
@remixman @fesshole - Hopefully not the Lung cancer. Guilt lasts longer.
@fesshole a statistician confesses.
@fesshole considering how unlikely the odds are, your family probably came out ahead, beer and cigs are a better use of money than lotteries, probably bring more happiness than losing every week forever
smoking = bad, but also smoking > gambling
@fesshole but wouldn’t they want to see the ticket at least once, before or while watching the draw?
@scottearle @fesshole I suppose they told the kid which numbers to put down, so there'd be no need to see the official ticket.
@mansr of course, but they’d want to see it at least once, surely
@fesshole and they never ever asked for the tickets after you purchased? 🤔
