We are currently on holiday in #Cavan at the moment but I wanted to share these photos with you all.

We went on a guided tour of #Newgrange, Co.Meath* today. We were allowed into see the inner chamber.

We stood inside a Neolithic Chamber that was built 5,200 years ago, which makes it older than Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Giza.

There are no words to explain how that feels - we are merely a dot on the timeline of this earth!

*for Mark 😉

@jacqui76 as a Meathman I must object in the strongest terms to your inclusion of a Cavan-related hashtag in a toot about a purely Meath venue. Whilst my ancestors were civilised and capable of such feats of engineering, those Cavan mucksavages likely couldn’t see past the end of whatever sheep they were bothering (and probably trying to charge it for the privilege, given how tight they are)

@ciaranmak @mark_f_lynch

I will amend my original tweet to include the wonderful county of #Meath which we have stayed in many times before visiting Cavan this time.

You weren't the first inhabitant of Meath to point out how wonderful their beloved county is to us on this trip - he was very adamant that their is only one county in Ireland that is worth being from!

@ciaranmak @jacqui76 just right. An island of culture and civilisation surrounded by jackeens, displaced jackeens (Louth), might as well be jackeens (Kildare), Biffos, wannabe Meath men (takes more than adding West, lads), the aforementioned mucksavages, and the less said about Monaghan the better…
