We are currently on holiday in #Cavan at the moment but I wanted to share these photos with you all.

We went on a guided tour of #Newgrange today. We were allowed into see the inner chamber.

We stood inside a Neolithic Chamber that was built 5,200 years ago, which makes it older than Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Giza.

There are no words to explain how that feels - we are merely a dot on the timeline of this earth!

Oh Wow!!

Jealous!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip, although Iโ€™m guessing that itโ€™s kinda peaked today! ๐Ÿ˜Š

@MAJ1

Evening Maj - today was a bucket list moment if I am being honest. It was other worldly, I can't find the right words to describe how #Newgrange makes you feel. Yep, the holiday has peaked.

Thank you - I will enjoy the rest of the break. I always enjoy my time in Ireland.

@jacqui76 it is so life changing knowing we were standing in the same spot as people so long ago. I get chills every time I think about it!

@somcak

Totally agree, you can't get your head around the fact that people were there over 5,000 years, moved those kerbstones and designed that art and it's still here.

I am not ashamed to admit that there was a few tears when we stood inside that chamber in the dark.

@jacqui76

I had similar experience of being a tiny dot on the timeline when I went to the caves at Pech Merle in southern France. They have cave paintings there which are 25000 years old.

Well worth a visit.
