@idjansazov @randahl There's certainly less support for him domestically than there was. However, those remaining are more fanatical, by definition. Plus, there's really no alternative leader yet, either in the Republican or Democratic Parties.

They have to find someone mad enough to feel the shoes of a POTUS that will have to deal the legacy of Trump. That's why there is no big line.
Not sure if the GOP can survive this. With the social media available I think something new can be born, like Mamdani on the right, hopefully not to be Fuentes.

@idjansazov @randahl It's rather doubtful; they have no one in the national regime with any vision other than "extract as much wealth as possible and make a mad dash for the helicopter in the middle of the compound when it all comes down". Those on the outside, like Fuentes or Owens, could command small but significant factions.

@idjansazov @randahl Trump provides them with the focal point. He's audacious enough to be a reality TV star, and none of the rest have any real star power at all...without him there, they wouldn't be able to get away with much of what they're doing.

I spend a great deal of time researching how the cults work, but the essence is that they are in a close community without external information and listen to the leader.

How on god's earth does he manage to explain that each day the people a having worse and worse times to feed them and their families, watch the billionaires get richer and richer and still trust him ?

There is absolutely no argument to trust him, but still there they are.

@idjansazov @randahl I think at least two things are happening here. First, this is not people who are using reason or logic, but instead people whose identity demands that they follow Trump. It's the same reason people follow and support football teams even though they lose. They also might buy an F150 truck even though they don't necessarily need one, or drink a certain brand of beer even if it isn't their favorite - it's a shared experience of the in-group.

Second, they are also so invested in this belief that going back on it would invalidate a large part of their life up to this point. All the investment of energy in promoting Trump would be seen as wasted if they were to change their minds or their lives.

And unfortunately, they don't have the self-actualization to make the logical choices.

Personally I blame the people with brains that vote for "Don of Con". They should know better, the people in the cult are victims.

Now you will see in the midterms that USA will turn Blue, but why was needed to go this far? The only good thing is that Tramp is weak and did not continue on Hitler's path, because TACO.

Rule of thumb "If USA and EU became these economic powers with liberal and progressive ideas - do not vote conservative"!
