Hundreds of millions of people live close enough to data centres used to power AI to feel warmer average temperatures in their local area
They discovered temperatures increased by an average of 2C (3.6F) in the months after an AI #datacenter started operating. In extreme cases, increase in temperature was 9.1C (16.4F). The effect wasn't limited to the immediate surroundings of the data centers: but up to 10km away
