When I look at #artemis I don’t think about a billionaire or a company. I think about my country. And for a fleeting moment I don’t feel shame. This is what it feels like when we, as a society, accomplish something. We don’t focus on some singular person. We feel this whole country pride.
@paco That may be how you feel but all I feel is disgust. It's a very expensive joy ride intended to distract. I will be surprised if it doesn't end in disaster.

@Axomamma NASA gets real things done on a shoestring budget. This is not some billionaire’s phallic folly. And so much public good has come from NASA.

I don’t want to pick fights over it, but I can’t see anyone at NASA working all these years and doing all this engineering “to distract.” It is literal rocket science. It cannot happen in response to current events. It is remarkable that they managed to keep it going to a conclusion in the 4 years since Artemis 1, all things considered.

@paco I'm not suggesting NASA is doing this to distract. I'm just annoyed this is being billed as "going to the moon."
