"All four of the crew of the Artemis II were born in the 1970s. And were probably all watching the Challenger explode when they were school kids."

I know that's what was on my mind.

Gen X group hug.

@gwynnion yeah, ngl, there was a bit of nervousness watching that start.
@orangelantern Those first 10 minutes were anxiety instead of elation. 🥺
@orangelantern I cried. I kept having flashbacks.
@gwynnion
I almost didn't watch it because of that.
@gwynnion That is the moment our generation remembers with clarity isn’t it.
@acsawdey @gwynnion I'm American but grew up in Germany, and Challenger is my first memory of US-news.
@gwynnion thanks - I needed the group hug

@gwynnion I watched both explode

It was horrifying.

I was a wreck watching this launch

@gwynnion I watched later. I don't watch them live anymore.

@gwynnion

Little waves of ptsd here…..

@gwynnion I hadn’t realized where my anxiety about this launch was coming from until I saw multiple similar posts today. It was one of only two “I remember where I was” moments in my life.
@gwynnion I couldn't watch for that reason.
@gwynnion @LexYeen I was able to catch the launch during my lunch and… my stomach was in knots. Beautiful, inspiring, but there’s a part of me that can’t help but be terrified by it in equal measure.
@gwynnion Considering Gen X barely exist (Obama is likely to be it's only President) we should let them have this.
