[P] I think gender essentialism is a reason why I dislike so much fantasy. I was thinking on Tiamat in MonsterVerse and that got me thinking about Tiamat in D&D. And Tiamat in D&D also embodies negative tropes aimed at women too: vain, scheming, manipulative, scornful, and so on. Gee, I wonder why GG picked those genders for Bahamut and Tiamat? Hey, Hasbro, swap Bahamut's and Tiamat'e genders—then have a good, long, hard think.

[P] Just as a footnote: Hey, look at that. I was just researching D&D and Gary Gygax did indeed create her as a sexist character. He decided he wanted to make an evil, chaotic female character that embodied negative female stereotypes to say "Suck it, feminists!" After feminists brought the heat, he doubled down and legitimised her in lore by giving her an official name. So, there you go, Tiamat was sexist-by-design. Called it.
