Is your #book already "memorised"? So it's called when companies like #OpenAI make the worst you can do: counterfeit words and illustrations of real human #authors.
Penguin Random House made a test and now sues OpenAI: "Coming from one of the largest publishing houses in the world, the #lawsuit against OpenAI could set a precedent for other publishers."

@NatureMC

I’m very interested in the outcome of this.
On the other hand: If you’re a good but unknown author this stealing can maybe improve the public awareness and your financial situation. ;)

@_RyekDarkener_ Unfortunately, it's the opposite!
Somewhere in my bookmarks, I have some articles about studies what happens, if AI scams and counterfeited author biographies are published on Amazon (happens regularly).
The losses are immense because these scams have much more power to get visible and on best places with fake reviews. The originals become invisible. If you are unknown, it's your professional death.

And you don't get rid of the lies, they invent your biography in whole books.

@NatureMC

Good point. So one better has to become famous before being copied. ;)

@_RyekDarkener_ Yes, that gives you the better lawyers for free. 😁 (And those of Random House are amidst the toughest in book business).
@NatureMC this is very important work that has to be done. the slop on the net is just terrible. misinformation or even disinformation may be evil and can be even dangerous in some cases. fakes may mislead people and this may cause problems and even accidents. so this is a kind of felony of a kind, at least.
and this definitely infringes the authors reputation and popularity when conterfeit slop is served as original autor's text.
