Gotta thank @shotgunseamstress for turning me on to the amazing Charles Bradley, who I was not aware of before this year (RIP, he passed in 2017). RIDICULOUS voice and arrangements. Strong Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Al Green, Percy Sledge vibes, for sure, and his first record is incredibly good- as well as his others, which I've been going through all last month.

Of special note is this soul/R&B cover of Nirvana's 'Stay Away' which is just one of the best damn things you'll hear today: https://youtu.be/dqwLMbgHep0

And he also did Neil Young's 'Heart of Gold' - another must hear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN53wAV7qdM

@jake4480 this makes me really happy. Find is cover of Ozzy's "Changes"
@shotgunseamstress yes that one's so amazing too! Was wondering if it was the Bowie one but the Ozzy one is even better! hahaha

@jake4480
His Changes was the first song of his I ever heard. I honestly didnt even realize it was Ozzy's song until MUCH later. Incredible. It stopped me in my tracks and still does.

@RadicalSocialWorker @shotgunseamstress cannot BELIEVE it took me til this year, and again, Shotgun Seamstress, thank you SO MUCH for mentioning him last month. SO COOL you saw him live twice!! It's been an amazing ride, last month.. First I listened to that first album over and over, then I found out he had MORE, and I gathered them up 🤯 just incredible. And then reading his story. Amazing.
