Motorists should 'fill up as normal' despite fuel prices soaring, minister says

Petrol prices have risen above 150p per litre as the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked to tankers by Iran in retaliation for US and Israel strikes.

@darwinwoodka I'd been thinking about trading in the PHEV for a proper EV for a while now, but the Iran war has given me exactly the metaphorical kick up the backside I needed to actually do something about it.

Really well timed with the April changes in the rules for the luxury car tax too. Yesterday it was a luxury car and would have attracted the punitive rate of VED. Today it is no longer a luxury car and I'll just need to pay the normal rate.
