Serious question, if a little philosophical.

If you look back at big personal decisions you've made in your life that turned out right in retrospect, what's an accurate way to describe most of them?

A — I made them quickly.
B — I mulled over them for some time, and modified my thoughts, so what I eventually decided was better than my initial hunch.
C — I spent a long time thinking about them, but in the end I went with something that largely matched my initial hunch.

Boosts appreciated!

A
B
C

Yes I do understand that there's confirmation bias involved in things one considers to have turned out right. I accept that this might influence your answer.
@xahteiwi Most of these big decisions were „should I stay or should I go“ kind of decisions. Staying is not life changing, that’s why for me B is not an expected outcome. I tend to overthink/-plan things, and life changing situations need a lot of evaluation if you have the time, so I went for C…

@xahteiwi I don't think the amount of thinking has been a significant factor in what has turned out good and what hasn't.

Most of the best things in my life has started by some sort of happenstance so it's been less about my active decision making and more about luck.

@xahteiwi It varies. I’ve made good and bad decisions based on gut feel. I’ve made good and bad decisions having agonised for months 🤷‍♂️
@xahteiwi D – I thought about the general idea long before it was time to decide. When the time came, I knew my position well and decided quickly.

Examples: Which subject should I study? Am I ever getting married? University career or industry?
@xahteiwi There are at least two options missing: "I blundered into them." and "Life chose for me."
@aha Do either of those count as "decisions" one makes?
