That's right
@stephenjudkins.bsky.social Two more dollars a gallon and I'll have to decide if I choose when to throw my party; based on $10 anywhere, local, national average, or anywhere. It will be fun to see the inflation-adjusted amount for this comic. Rough guess is $20 (30y @3% compounded annually = $29 & change).
@stephenjudkins.bsky.social Chevron always seems to have the highest prices. No idea why people patronize them.

β•In Jpn it's about $4 (USD) a gallon for the past few years. 160 yen/liter

I stopped getting gas since 2019 after getting a #nissanleaf #EV

Home charge 200v 30amp for 10hr 2 times a month. Cost is low, don't notice it, just part of the electric bill.

A tech friend said it's $5 to charge, we get 290km for that

Eneos - Wikipedia

@stephenjudkins.bsky.social for 4 liters of gas? only 1 dollar a liter. that is pretty normal.

A US-gallon is 3.79L - a proper imperial one 4.55L.

With petrol prices up to 2.20€/L that's $8.34/us-gall for the transpondians.
Thus pretty average.

@vampirdaddy @stephenjudkins.bsky.social lol american's can't even do their gallons right

i didn't know there was more than 1 type of gallon.

@stephenjudkins.bsky.social In fairness there are a handful of gas stations in LA that typically price higher by $1/gal or more most of the time; this is one of them. There's also one on Venice near Sepulveda, and one at the edge of Beverly Hills. Median price for 87 octane is ~$6.50, which is still expensive AF, but this station specifically is always an outlier. It's right downtown near the train station and the 101, so I assume it's a combination of location and a tourist customer base.

Still easily less than drivers pay in Europe

@GracelessHippo @stephenjudkins.bsky.social Yup. Paid the equivalent of $12 per US gallon the other day.

Then again, Europe has cars that do 45 mpg. Poor diddums Americans with their truuucks.

@stephenjudkins.bsky.social
If I got this right, this is equivalent to 1.84 €/l. Which would mean a big decline over here, making all car brains really happy again.
(Current price is around 9.10 $/gallon.)
@stephenjudkins.bsky.social @solsetur it's been way more than 8 for a while if you adjust for inflation by the comics publish date.
