Sometimes people tell us to "get a job" as if it's that simple.
There are multitudinous good reasons why we:
1. Consider our work for Vulpine Labs and the local community more important than any run of the mill "job".
2. Cannot seriously be expected to attain traditional employment.
3. Shun traditional models of pay in favour of Mutual Aid.
And we won't let capitalism grind us down.

Got a new phone from a good friend
Set up an LELink LeafSpy OBD2 device to help diagnose and fix the car
Did some reading at the library to get back in the mood for learning Python

Did some cleaning and tidying
Took the car to do a slow charge session
Did some phone setup
Will likely cook food for us and a homeless friend, and do some VR.

Yesterday was the 15th anniversary of when I started driving pure EVs, starting with a Nissan Leaf on May 6, 2011 (photo below). Then I had a Tesla from August 25, 2018 to March 13, 2025, and currently a Hyundai Kona Electric (which fits better in my garage, plus it doesn't remind me of Elon). I was initially inspired by the 2006 movie Who Killed the Electric Car.
All with no gas or oil changes! (Also no smog checks when I lived in California.) I will definitely never buy another car with an internal combustion engine (another type of #ICE to avoid).

After 2 months that included a rejected arbitration claim, a successful appeal, and various legal threats, #Nissan will repurchase our 2020 #Leaf. Since January, 2026, we have not been able to drive our #EV because of a bad battery. Thankfully it's under warranty, but Nissan has no batteries to give. So I invoked our state's Lemon Law. Now that they have agreed to repurchase, another 6 to 12 weeks to get paid. Meanwhile, not really digging the gas Altima loaner. I'll be glad when this is over.

Home charge 200v 30amp for 10hr 2 times a month. Cost is low, don't notice it, just part of the electric bill.
A tech friend said it's $5 to charge, we get 290km for that
they also had an almost identical looking white Nissan Leaf! just the ZE1 instead of the ZE0, but definitely weird to see a clone of my car on their porch haha
They also pointed out my car has a little solar panel, and I never realized that's what it actually was; it's tiny so we presume it's just to keep the 12v system topped up to keep the electronics and such alive. Still neat though
