#Cherokee #tomatoes just now.

There are about 30 on the plants & most are about tennis ball size or bigger.

The recent very hot & very cold spells killed off a lot of the tomato flowers though. 😕

Grabbed this image online but you can see just how different a Cherokee is in the amount of flesh vs seeds.

@John @RHW
Oh they are beauties. I might have to look out for them next summer!
I thought mine were big 😃.
Thanks for the music too, I haven’t listened to Ben Lee in a while.
@John I'm sorry to hear that. Our tomatoes have been less than amazing this year, and I'll be pulling them out within the week.

@ghost_shit

Our Big Pear are almost done but the plant is still covered in tomatoes, so they’ll be in meals for a week or more yet. 🤞

The Cherokees are the ones I’m really waiting on. They are superb tomatoes.

If you’ve never tried one, they’re like #Kumato tomatoes in flavour, have lots of flesh & are great eaten just as a fruit.

@John
You’re lucky you’re still getting some produce. I’ve got a part of one plant left with flowers still on it, but I think it’ll get too cold for them to do anything - I live in hope though🤣.
Just as an aside, if you don’t think the tomatoes you have on the plant will ripen - fried green tomatoes taste just as good as red ones.

@feather1952

Anything left, I think I’ll pickle them.

My experiment with pickling the Big Pears was a success. I’d never tried them before but it sounded interesting.

@John
Sounds good. I’m going to get myself a small dehydrator before next summer 😃.
@John They look very healthy, John, you are a Tom Master. 😁
I have quite a few cherry toms still on vine but even though they are getting sun not ripening as fast as I had hoped.
