Proud dad today.

Kiddo's school put up posters with genAI images for some event, and kiddo was part of the campaign to get them replaced with human art.

Part of the argument was "good for me is good for thee", as genAI is strictly forbidden in school work.

@silvermoon82 In related school AI news, kid copy-pasted from a draft into a file for final submission and the different formatting made the teacher assume he'd committed plagiarism (either online source or LLM) and gave him a zero without any conversation with him or parents.
@HayiWena
Oof! That's trash. Were you able to fight it at all?

@silvermoon82 Yeah. So the accusation came because Google Docs will play back how the document was created. Type type type paste type type type. That's it. That's why she assumed plagiarism.

She said he had to prove he had written it so he had her put it in an AI detector - 1% chance it was AI-generated. Not good enough, she said. Bear in mind this was a 3rd draft and he'd presented it orally. How do I prove I wrote it? "Figure it out yourself." I guess mom saying it wasn't plagiarized did it.

@HayiWena @silvermoon82 seem this mistreatment comitted by neurotypicals againdt neurodiverse people more frequently these days…
@silvermoon82 Heck, I'm proud of your kid!
