Attie, referred to as a “new product” that’s “not part of the Bluesky app” in an interview with TechCrunch, allows users to essentially vibe code their own custom feed using natural language prompts — or even build their own Bluesky app alternative on top of the service’s Atmosphere protocol, an ecosystem of interoperable social applications.

Some instances have it and others don't. If you do not see "Translate" under the fingers above, your instance does not support the function.

The translate tool is not available in my view. I have visited many instances and I do not see any of them offer the translate tool to visitors. Even if I visit your post on your instance, instead of mine, I still see no translate tool. I think your instance requires a user to be logged in to be given access to that tool.

First of all Translate has to be specifically installed, 2nd to show the Translate link the post has to be labeled a different language besides your own.

If Translate has to be installed (even with the extra effort of applying for API keys) and is only available to users logged in to that instance, but not to visitors, then I am not convinced that your original claim is true, which started this thread:

"AI is already installed into most of Mastodon via Translate".

Even if Translate is installed on your instance, do you propose that AI is doing anything on "most of #Mastodon", other than offering a translation?

@Earl I'm positive by active user count the majority of Mastodon has translate enabled. All the major instances have it. I'm not bothered by AI having access to posts to translate. Likewise I could care less if Bluesky has a separate app (Attie) that has AI processing posts. These are both non-issues to me or I wouldn't have installed translate.

The entire Fediverse is scrapped like crazy in a much more significant way by much more significant AI companies. There is no getting away from it.

AI is man's attempt to make a god that is all-knowing, scraping all the data it can access. This does not frighten me, however, because for me and many others who post online, we actually want our content to be seen, and not hidden. And I already believe there is a truly all-knowing God who created us in his image, who will bring to light the hidden things of darkness.

But #Attie could be used as a form of censorship, hiding or suppressing views, which I am against.
