notably, one of the more common complaints in fallout 4? is that you get locked out of major factions when you start making big moves against them

which is funny, because in skyrim one of the major complaints is you could just become king of almost all the factions regardless of what their beliefs are 🤷🏼

if only they did the new vegas thing, like letting you assassinate major brotherhood figures then give you a reputation wipe For Reasons to let you become elder even though everyone in the bos hates you

also let's just be clear the legion, as a faction, is incredibly plot armored

you're not gonna send a bunch of SUPER PHYSICALLY CONDITIONED DUDES WITH STICKS AND SPORTS GEAR to charge even ww1 level infantry lines and win

they'd get slaughtered

what's extra funny is that you COULD have made that work by just actually using fallout lore: they take a buncha chems and now they're temporarily fiend/super soldiers

but no, actually their head dipshit leader doesn't let them take any drugs except some healing powder which is Definitely Not Drugs

so we are left to believe, in this absolutely s-tier writing. that some losers with pointy sticks are regularly trouncing dudes in actual armor with rifles

the place that is flat as fuck, is a goddamn desert so it has good visibility in most areas

there's also this constant undercurrent of "well there was SUPPOSED to be a legion town! we'd get more lore!"

it doesn't matter. new vegas loves to info dump you in dialogue so we know how they work in broad strokes unless the cut town was gonna contradict hundreds of jacked up fuck ass legion lines bragging about all the fucked shit they do

this is also a game that unironically used the "fascists made the trains run on time" argument with the whole "legion has safer roads" thing

here, invest in energy weapons even tho you don't have any yet, and when you do get them they'll underperform like shit until you get higher skill
