You guys! How did this get to be a semi-viral post! Or are all the visitors from Scotland, ha-ha! I just knew there were a lot of Scottish folk using Mastodon. #Scotland #Scottish #Geology #RockHound #Art #Map

@cobalt123 it's an awesome thing to have done, congrats to that dad, and thank you for sharing.

Aside: seen like that, Scotland kinda looks like a starfighter. Cool.

@adriano Oh not my relative! It’s a story that I found in Reddit. Use this link to learn more of the story:

@cobalt123 Semi-viral? 290 boosts is an absolute world sensation on Mastodon!
@cobalt123 It's a tadpole and a frog.

@vera Oops! Thanks for catching my error on the link. Now you know what I was looking at just before finding the Scotland map Art. So if anyone wants more of the story they should go to your link!

If they try my link they will still enjoy the trip there because my link goes to a Turkish artist who does compositions half and half with an opposite person to the one on the other halt. Stunning, but a warning: some of those 20 shared are very sad.

@cobalt123 You're welcome. And sorry for probably sounding rude by just sending the link, my brain wasn't braining in english before my first coffee this morning.
Your link is absolutely stunning but as you said - very sad as well.
@cobalt123
I didn't try to build anything, but as we toured NS, I picked one unusual rock from each coast we were on to decorate around my garden
@cobalt123 love this map. it answers directly for each rock "where did you find it, approximately?"
@cobalt123 "back in my day we didn't have autism!"
@cobalt123
Huh, so it is accurate to give dwarves Scottish accents
@cobalt123
If I ever retire I would do something like this for Germany. But first I have to find someone who is funding me to write a railroadside geology book of Germany.
@cobalt123 Has he included a tiny bit of cairngorm stone? We have smoky citrine here in Virginia, colored by radon.
@Nazani Oh! Now I have to go look it up! Thanks for asking. Maybe I can ask his son via Reddit.

@cobalt123

so if it was me vs. this guy at the cocktail party in a conversation and he's gonna make everything about rocks ... BUT I'm gonna make everything about ants

who would win?

IDK.

I'm good but he seems very formidable.

You can just tell from this photo. Do any of ya'll think you could win in such a battle?

@futurebird @cobalt123

I'm good but he seems very formidable.

But you in turn seem quite formicable

@futurebird Oh no indeed! Maybe you have not met many Scottish men but I guarantee one with a passionate hobby will be a force to reckon with!
@futurebird @cobalt123 why would it be a battle? I just want to hear you both infodump.
