Dear #lazyweb, what's a good iPad (or if I must, macOS/Windows/web) app for mapping out unknown territory? Grid, icons/labels, ability to gauge distance, that sort of thing. Needs to NOT be real-world map based.

Diagram tools like Vizio/OmniGraffle are like 80% there but lack the distance gauging thing.

(Yes this is about #Subnautica, lmao. No I do not want to just use other peoples' maps!)

Mapping app outcome: I'm sure there are some I haven't tried yet, but amusingly, so far the one that checks all my boxes the best happens to be one I've overlooked for years: Apple's own 'Freeform' app.

✅ lines, icons, text
✅ diagramming-style discrete 'objects' (drag, resize, label, group etc)
✅ drawing lines shows current length, visible *above* my fingertip
✅ grid background (albeit not customizable)
✅ very well thought-out multi-touch UI

That'll do, pig. That'll do.

(Well, no pigs here. That'll do, Garryfish?)
