#Gas

Bought some gas for one of my cars for the 1st time in months.

$78.15 for 13.026 gals at $5.999/gal for Premium which this particular car requires.

The last time I bought any gas, I think it was around $4.859/gal.

That's a 23.5% increase 🤦🏻‍♂️

I'm glad that I don't drive any of my ICE vehicles much any more. 😉

---------------

PS: I also own a #diesel #truck.

The price of diesel at the same station is now $7.299/gal up from around $5/gal the last time I looked.

That's a 46% increase in about the same time frame. 🤯

Just think what this increase is doing to the #trucking industry & what it will soon do to the cost of everything, because everything (at one stage or another) is delivered by truck.

The #USPS already announced that it is imposing an 8% fuel surcharge on pkg deliveries starting on 4/26.

This won't be the last that we see of such surcharges or other cost increases due to the higher fuel costs precipitated by #Drumpf's idiotic war in #Iran.🤦🏻‍♂️

@sgt1372

Have to admit, when I first read ICE vehicle, I was thinking border enforcement. But then it dawned on me-- you meant combustion engine 🙂

@Starcade

Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vs Electric Vehicle (EV).

I own 4 ICE (3 gas & 1 diesel) vehicles & 1 EV that I lease.

@sgt1372

You know when you read something and think to yourself, that can't be right. Some acroymns have more than one meaning. It took me a moment before figuring it out.

@Starcade Other acronyms less commonly used in the auto industry are HEV (Hybird Electric Vehicle) & PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle).

ICE (as a government agency) only recently gained common recognition as a result it's use of excessive extrajudicial & arguably illegal force in exercising their administrative powers in the attempt to deport people they consider to be "illegal" immigrants, whether they are actually illegally in this country or not.

@sgt1372

It's only because ICE has been in the news practically non-stop for months now, that it was the first thing that came to mind. 😐
