Volvo Trucks - The Epic Split feat. Van Damme

Watch Jean-Claude Van Damme carry out his famous split between two reversing trucks. Never done before, JCVD says it's the most epic of splits -- what do you...

Remember that time Elon said he was making a semi-truck? 😂😂

Anyway, here's a real company making a real-life truck.
Up to 600km range.
20-80% fill in 50-85min
six-speed transmission
13-tonne axle
GCW of up to 48T with payload of 28T.

These are the things we need to be doing for those “last mile" applications where electrified (catenary) rail is not possible.

The preview doesn't seem to be happening on the Inside EV website so I added a screenshot.

Here's the actual Volvo product page with a ton more details, pictures, video etc.

@atomicker

'Everything comes off a truck'.
And that was a choice to get votes?

The common story is that rail was seen as competing with private enterprise trucking, and sole trader truck owners were seen as voters for neoliberal governments. So rail was neglected and trucks on the road encouraged.
Not sure how accurate this story is.

"Our investigation took us to truck stops ... to examine what are called #chameleoncarriers — commercial #trucking fleets, often foreign-owned and operated, that shed one identity for another after racking up flagrant safety violations and flouting federal regulations.
Chameleon carriers, as their name suggests, are commercial trucking operations that skirt federal regulations and escape bad #safety records by changing company names to evade detection."

The trucking companies evading federal safety enforcement and plaguing U.S. highways

In a scheme plaguing roadways, some commercial trucking networks are racking up safety violations and evading federal enforcement by dissolving bad records and operating under new names.

#Gas

Bought some gas for one of my cars for the 1st time in months.

$78.15 for 13.026 gals at $5.999/gal for Premium which this particular car requires.

The last time I bought any gas, I think it was around $4.859/gal.

That's a 23.5% increase 🤦🏻‍♂️

I'm glad that I don't drive any of my ICE vehicles much any more. 😉

---------------

PS: I also own a #diesel #truck.

The price of diesel at the same station is now $7.299/gal up from around $5/gal the last time I looked.

That's a 46% increase in about the same time frame. 🤯

Just think what this increase is doing to the #trucking industry & what it will soon do to the cost of everything, because everything (at one stage or another) is delivered by truck.

The #USPS already announced that it is imposing an 8% fuel surcharge on pkg deliveries starting on 4/26.

This won't be the last that we see of such surcharges or other cost increases due to the higher fuel costs precipitated by #Drumpf's idiotic war in #Iran.🤦🏻‍♂️
