I'm currently looking to expand my social network and would love to get in touch with anyone in the "global south" (especially African countries) involved in #hamradio, wireless community networks, #FOSS or #OSHW development or the #maker and #hacker communities. I'd be very happy if anyone from the above target groups would reach out and introduce themselves #followerpower
@LaF0rge I’m in South Africa, work for @sensepost, mostly into #hardwarehacking and making electronic things.
@LaF0rge do immigrants from the global south count? May I ask why you are interested on this particular group?
@everton137 it's in the context of my role at @ARDC where we are trying to improve the diversity of our grant making and other activities, which are currently too US and first world centric.
@LaF0rge Does Australia count? šŸ™‚
@LaF0rge With globalinnovationgathering.org there will be a group again in Berlin around re:publica. Would recommend APC, FOSSAsia, ASKnet. But most are not on fedi.
@aprica thanks, will investigate. Very surprising that initiatives in this context would not use the fediverse. Culturally that would be an obvious match to me.
@LaF0rge doesn't get more global and more south than the city with the southernmost subway station on the globe (?) šŸ‘‹ I recently found some osmocom repos helpful while researching qcom diag stuff!
