Taking my wares to market 😄

I’m selling some echeveria pups at the cactus club for the first time. I still haven’t decided the prices because I’m not sure what’s appropriate.

I’m just a simple (echeveria) farmer trying to scratch out a living (in one of the biggest urban areas in the world)
Staying frosty cuz I’m pretty sure there’s a big bad wolf somewhere on the way

Looks like I only sold two out of fifteen plants 💀

- I probably priced them about ¥100 too high

- I probably should have made more of an effort on presentation (soil and pots)

- I got an unfortunate position behind the main area

- This crowd is more interested in other kinds of succulents

I sold two echeverias and bought three new plants, so the cosmic balance is maintained.

Haworthia ‘Blue Comptoniana’ x ‘Ura Hannya’ (ブルコン般若)

Gasteria pillansii

Parodia leninghausii (金晃丸)

@takosix There are a number side quests you can go really deep on with plants. One is e.g. fancy pots. Another is fancy labels. I've never managed to care about any of that stuff, but if I'm going to start selling then maybe I should.
@amake No, it's the children who are wrong.
@takosix Yeah the “children” with average age 60+ 👴
@amake They just can't handle your hip youthful succulents.
Maybe $8 or $10? I’ve definitely bought succulents for that much before ☺️🙏🏼
@amake Wait, is "pup" the official word for...uh...a cutting? of a cactus? Or is this just your affection showing through
@nosword It’s not a scientific term but my understanding is that it’s synonymous with “offset” (or simply “baby”) in referring to an additional growth point on a plant that one can cut off and root to create a clone of the original plant. It’s not just me trying to be cute.
@amake Huh, neat. Thanks! You know your constant succulentposting has actually made me start to think "Well...we could put some up here on the balcony..." Propaganda works!
