Anyone have HRT or DIY HRT guidance for someone living in Japan?

Being in Japan has allowed a couple of people to find me, and both are asking how to get started. Best I've got is "speak to your GP or go DIY via the US supply chain and hope to get it past customs"... Neither is a great response.

Please boost for exposure, and if there are Japanese HRT resources for trans women please share. Both are English speaking people living in Japan, I mostly want to help them with finding information.

@dee oof, yeah, everyone I know went through their GP there in Japan, but I haven’t met many transfems there. It seems like it is more accessible in the Tokyo area, as I know JET tends to send trans folks to places near there, but not sure about much more.

Hmmm…I met a Japanese trans woman while I was there last summer, but she doesn’t speak a ton of English. If I put you in contact, would you be able to talk with her and relay info?

@JoscelynTransient yeah I've seen so few trans people here, but then how would I know as the fashion overlaps into a lot of things trans people would wear. The few we've seen have been in Kyoto (2 women) and Tokyo (3 women).

Let me find out how much Japanese they know before I ask for contact, I have a bad feeling it's poor as they are children of US Navy folk that I bumped into.

@dee oh, that’s helpful to know, since they are probably stuck with care on base and need to find some way to access are outside. I’m not sure how easy it is for children of US military to access and use Japanese healthcare, language barriers aside.
