This just came up in conversation. In case you're not aware of it, there's a problem with arsenic in rice, and using a rice cooker isn't good enough nowadays. Making rice has become a little tedious if you want it to be safe, but there it is.

@pertho That's a good question. Yeah, what I'm seeing suggests it's rice in the SE US that's worst at present. I'd love to find or be shown more comprehensive data! I assumed it was everywhere, but maybe not!
@mason I think it was down to the pesticide residue being in the soil and the rice crop would just absorb it.
