@ascentale #BikeNitePQ For the first time ever, I broke a chain on a ride, far from home!! Luckily, the local bicycle store was downhill, and I coasted all the way down there and paid them to replace the chain (needed a spare anyway, took the old broken one home to add some new links and re-wax). It appears I am not packing all the tools I need.

What tools should I be carrying with me on all bike rides? (I usually carry a patch kit and a small pump, but I did not have a chain tool nor a master link with me.) What else am I missing?!?!

@ai6yr @ascentale I bring a spare frame with tools to swap the components, incl. headset remover, headset press, and bottom bracket tool.

I've learned that if trim the steering tube ahead of time I don't have to carry a hacksaw.

People think I'm crazy but I know it's them.

@ai6yr @ascentale I carry a bike multitool, patch kit, 2x CO2 cartridges, 2x master link, tire levers, (forgot) spare tube.
