#polSci question:

In the UK we have local and national government administrative areas.

For example:

- my local government area is the ‘Ward’ of Eastney and Craneswater
- my national government area is the ‘Constituency’ of Portsmouth South.

Does the local/municipal | national/federal combo fully address every sizeable country?

Or are there important intermediary ones as well? i.e. areas *between* local/municipal and national/federal which people have some sort of political agency in?

@urlyman What about town & county councils? Where I live (Essex) we have Ward/Parish reps to City council & also elect reps to County Council (soon to be reorganised to Unitary). Or maybe I have misunderstood.
@annehargreaves thanks. That’s good to know. I’m trying to create a schema for the major levels of formal political agency people have which is not country specific
@urlyman Sounds interesting!
