The reply function on social media should be located after the existing comments. That should - hopefully - make people read what's already been said and reduce the number replying with the same exact fucking comment.

Fair enough, but as the only truly
social media is the DeCentralised Fediverse and between multiple microblogging software, federation, fediblocking etc, someone might not see that someone else has said what they wanted to.

The most likely way to see all replies is if you view a post on remote instance and then it's a PITA you shouldn't have to put up with.

Also. replying without clearly indicating to whom, IE if multiple tags, between the top and next one, possible deleting other tags from the reply, is another unnecessary complication.

One of many reasons I use Misskey is reactions. An emoji which will appear in the space after messages.
I try not to duplicate anyone else's emoji when reacting; similar thing.
