I bought an in-home device to remove unwanted body hair and I've been really happy with how well it's been working, but my biggest concern is whether or not I’m always going to want my remaining pubic hair to be in the shape of a pot leaf. Like, I know it's timeless NOW, but will I feel the same when I’m 90?

Okay, so this post is clearly just a dumb joke but I did buy an at home hair removal device a couple of years ago, but it didn't work for me because my leg hair is very light and fine and I guess the device needs darker hair so it can see the hair follicles to zap them.

I've had the thing sitting under my bathroom sink for over a year and realized I probably have a friend on Mastodon who could use this and who it might actually work for, so I'd be happy to mail it to someone in the US for free with hope they'll have better luck with it.

I'd ideally like it to go to a trans friend who wants to try something out in the safety of their own home, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has dumb blonde wispy hair like mine and would instead recommend to those with darker hair and good contrast between hair color and skin tone.

I no longer have the box because it was big and bulky and took up way too much space, but it's in very good condition.

I've included a photo with a can of Pepsi for scale (Pepsi not included because I just drank it).

If you'd like more info, here's a link to what I believe to be the same model:

Please comment here or DM me if you'd like to be the next recipient of the sisterhood of the traveling hair removal device (as stated before, trans friends will take priority).

Also, it should be noted that I only used the device on my legs and never actually used it to zap a pot leaf into my pubic hair, but I won’t judge the new recipient if they choose to use it for that purpose.

Have you no ambition in life!?

@neil Okay, fine. If nobody wants my free hair removal device, I'll try to give it a second life by working toward the eternal pot leaf.
@Alice That's the spirit!

@Alice

Maybe if you dyed your pubes green first?

@neil

@Alice

I will! I will judge them to be AWESOME.

@Alice if I had a dime for every time I zapped a pot leaf into my nether regions (shiny)
@Alice you are stupidly awesome.
@Alice Would you be willing to autograph it?
@Alice If it works like laser removal, you might want to add that it may not work on dark skin, according to some of the ladies I know.
@anarchic_teapot Ah, good to know. I think the general idea is it's best if you have good contrast between your skin tone and hair color.
@Alice @anarchic_teapot yep, my wife and I have pale skin and dark hair and have had good results with an at-home IPL device (a different model though). It had worked great on chest/legs/arms/pubes but her facial hair and my armpits have been a bit more stubborn. Still seeing some results even there, though.
@anarchic_teapot I can confirm that laser removal does not work on dark skin.

@Alice I so appreciate the offer but I don’t have any laser hairs to remove :/

You’re still the best though.

@Alice

I shaved my eyebrows off one time (in fit of fuckitwhynot) and everyone else lost their minds

"it won't grow back!"
"it looks weird!"
"were you on drugs?!"

they grew back in about a month but for that time watching peoples reactions was a lot of fun

@coolcalmcollected @Alice

This is unhinged af and I LOVE IT.

@Eyerollcomics

on a separate occasion, I bleached and cut my hair in the fashion of a cotton-top tamarin. that was generally well received. I have the right shaped head to pull that one off

@coolcalmcollected

I want to be you when I grow up (I'm 31).

@Eyerollcomics

My carefree attitude towards my hair started when I shaved in my first mohawk at 20. There's nothing as liberating as shaving off your hair. If you don't like it, just wear hats until it grows back in 🀷
