linux isn't systemd; we have openrc, runit, and many more
android isn't motorola/google/samsung; we have graphene, lineage, f-droid, and more

the people pushing #DeveloperRegistration and #AgeVerification want you to believe there are no alternatives available
that's NOT true, there are solutions out there right now:

(1/2)

#systemd #KeepAndroidOpen

flash your phones with an alternate OS
skip the play store, and download apps from open source app stores like F-Droid or zapstore, or even direct download with obtanium (or 'sideload' [install] APKs directly) 📱

linux distros go beyond the ubuntu (with the proprietary snaps anyway) and other ones who ship with systemd
try artix, void, and devuan; use openrc on gentoo instead of opting for systemd 🐧
and hey, there's always BSD 🐡

(2/2)

#systemd #KeepAndroidOpen

@librekitty Ubuntu has an amazing UX and UI design though and free Ubuntu Pro, 10+ years of security updates (LTS versions)... No other distro matches that, or?

@d4n2023 @librekitty Ok but here’s the thing: Ubuntu is one of the distros willing to roll over and comply with surveillance through age verification. There are many distros who actually care about your privacy that aren’t.

If you don’t care about that for yourself (which I’d argue you should tbh) then sure, keep using Ubuntu, that’s your choice to make. But I don’t think that’s worth giving up for a UI that can literally be recreated in Gnome on any distro and a paid (not free) service for enterprise that most people wouldn’t need or use anyway.
