Welcome to the few of my friends making the jump from Facebook! A couple of things that make Mastodon work for me:
Lists — I organize the accounts I follow into thematic groups (nature, Abbey Folks, local stuff, etc.) and browse by list rather than doomscrolling one big feed. In the Mona app this is really clean and easy to use. (1/2)
Hashtags — unlike Facebook, hashtags here are the real discovery engine. You can follow a hashtag and posts using it show up in your feed even from accounts you don’t follow yet. Worth exploring ones relevant to your interests.
Mastodon doesn’t curate for you, which is the whole point — but that means a little intentionality goes a long way. #Mastodon #FediTips (2/2)
