@samiamsam @fn0rd I had this at a different company.
After 2 of the 4+1 people on the Linux-IT team got (not legally!) 'mobbed out' by upper managment with mandatory in-office time (despite none of the systems being onsite and one would've to commute 500km (!) one-way (!!) twice a week (!!!) whist the other dragged themselves into the office with a fresh knee surgery, the remaining 2+1 [I was still in] got ordered crunchtime (as if that was excuseable in a regular IT infrastructure!).
- I dared to ask 'what consequences do we take away from this? I'm not asking financially, but like structural and organizational…' and the CxO in the meeting looked at me as if I had personally insulted them.
- Needless to say, they didn't get why said people went away, and AFAICT not only did I and the rest of the Linux team quit, but even my successor quit afterwards (cuz I happen to randomly meet them at a different company long after that!)…
Funny how small the world actually is…
