Ghosts from the past. A curious scene formed by the interplay between graffiti and a lonely wheelchair, inside an abandoned Italian "manicomio" (madhouse, or mental asylum). What meaning does this scene hold for you? Does it symbolise hope, despair, freedom or confinement?

@ObsidianUrbex to me, the surrealisim of this is a warm hug of nihilism. In a good way. So sort of a "none of the above".
@ObsidianUrbex Not freedom, but escape. Not a success, but an end to failure. It's hope to the one who's lost all hope.

@ObsidianUrbex the peeling wall paint looks like an unfinished puzzle. the disintegrating papers scattered all over the floor... I want to read them.

what a disturbing image.

@ObsidianUrbex

It either looks like the moment of freedom or someone trying to free themselves but they're shackled to the world below. Or, possibly most disturbing, someone achieving freedom but is slowly being drawn downwards, towards the crack.

@ObsidianUrbex Personally I believe this painting showing despair
@ObsidianUrbex I thought of Pompei, or the image of a person seared into a wall by an atomic blast.
@ObsidianUrbex 'madhouse' is most suitable for a scene like this 😁
