All shot on iPhone 📱

Not sure what I was playing at back then, but the inconsistency with warm/cool tones or white balance or whatever it is, is going to give me nightmares tonight 🤣

Last blog post for March 💻 Shooting With an iPhone Vs a Full-Frame Camera 📱📷

As I’ve experimented with both a tiny sensor and its larger counterpart, a few observations have bubbled to the surface 🧐

From image quality and the benefits of both devices, to mobile shots that seem to basically be an AI-generated image of what you think you took a photo of 😳

Writing up a post on photography with iPhone Vs a camera and stumbled upon this article.

Pretty interesting stuff. Most mobile photos seem to basically be an AI-generated image of what you think you took a photo of 😳

The moon thing on Samsung phones is especially concerning 🧐

I wonder how much of this is bullshit is also in cameras now, too?

Your phone edits all your photos with AI - is it changing your view of reality?

From simple enhancements to hallucinated facial features, modern phones choose how our memories will look. You might love the results, but they could alter how we see the world.

Another piece from this week, working with Payne's gray and titanium white. Using value and texture to express how I'm feeling about a particular moment.

The Bauhaus studio building in Dessau, designed by Walter Gropius and opened in 1926, is an icon of New Objectivity; its clarity impressed and captivated me the first time I saw it, and the small balconies look like a cluster of swimming pool diving platforms, as seen here in a photograph from 2021.

Ghosts from the past. A curious scene formed by the interplay between graffiti and a lonely wheelchair, inside an abandoned Italian "manicomio" (madhouse, or mental asylum). What meaning does this scene hold for you? Does it symbolise hope, despair, freedom or confinement?

There are just three days left of #MonochromeMarch so if you would like a photograph or artwork included in one of the three volumes of the e-zine, now's the time to post it!
Don't be shy!
Please remember to use the hashtag and to add 'Zine permission granted' to your posts, which must be of new work made this month.
The response so far has been quite special, so thank you everyone.
