Transcarpathia (Київ - Будапешт)

I really enjoy taking exciting photos of puddles at night after a rain shower. What’s so #shiny (#PhotoSuggestion) here is the night train from Budapest-Keleti (where this photo was taken) to Kyiv. When I meet my Ukrainian colleagues, Hungary is usually the easiest place to get to. They travel on this train for just 14 (Lviv) or 20 (Kyiv) hours to Budapest. Just before her return journey, my colleague told me that, despite the long journey, it’s very comfy.

By the way, I found this YouTube video showing the journey from Budapest to Kyiv: https://youtu.be/m9DpriNJG38 ... what’s really fascinating is that, in the middle of the night, the axles on the carriages have to be changed for several hours because Ukraine has a different track gauge.
