muri ~FFS guys. Not everything is a slippery slope. If you don't trust the maintainers that built the operating system your using with implementing *offline* age "verification" then what are you even doing? Its a f*n input field where you can put in everything you like, or do you feel compelled to use your full name and address, place of birth as well? If this change allows maintainers to keep working on the projects they love even though they live in a dystopia, I'd say it's worth it.
anonymas@muri I agree. A slippery slope is a fallacy anyway until one can prove one action can or will lead to another. There are ways to prove ones age is verified without having to give out personal details. And with Linux we can fork it and make an image that has the verification removed anyway 😆.
