As a #Naturist I can easily say that the greatest challenge is not within our practice itself, but in how it is perceived by the wider public. Misunderstanding defines nearly every interaction with the textile world. Many incorrectly assume #naturism is inherently sexual, when in #reality it is grounded in simplicity, #equality, & comfort. This disconnect creates a barrier that requires constant explanation, often to audiences unwilling to listen with openness. (1/2)
Closely tied to misunderstanding is the persistence of stigma. #Social norms around clothing are deeply ingrained, & those who step outside them are frequently judged harshly. #Naturists may be labelled as inappropriate or attention seeking, even when our intent is quiet & personal. This stigma affects not only public perception but also employment, relationships, & #social acceptance in subtle yet ongoing ways. (2/2)
