A wild animal of *any* possible species decides to voluntarily move in and live with you politely.

Which animal do you hope it is?

@NanoRaptor Capybara. No question.
@michaelgemar @NanoRaptor came here to say just this. The motion is seconded!
@NanoRaptor Cassowary (as long as they remain polite, that is)

@c_dan4th @NanoRaptor

I came here to say honey badger, but this is better.

@NanoRaptor

i don't have lot of extra room

@gloriouscow

The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating (by Elisabeth Tova Bailey) is basically about that! Good book.

@NanoRaptor

@NanoRaptor House Hippo, zero hesitation.
@NanoRaptor since dragons don't exist in real life ... I guess I'll go with raccoon.
@NanoRaptor if dragons secretly exist however and they are just like some top secret government thing... I'll go with dragon and they will be very well taken care of.
@loganer @NanoRaptor Miner's Cat. It's the pet you get when you don't have enough attitude for a raccoon.

@NanoRaptor otter. Or capybara. Or kitty. Iโ€™m pretty open, tbh.
@NanoRaptor i think i would appreciate any animal as long as it can access my home
either it takes the stairs and figure out a way to ring at the intercom, or has to come by the window
coming by the window would be the most plausible option when living in a city
i would love it to be an owl or a raven, but owls don't really live in dense urban areas and raven don't live in europe (AFAIK)
but i would love if one of the two could move in with me

@NanoRaptor A polite squirrel would be lovely. A non polite one a pest and those situations break my heart because I donโ€™t like animals hurt or killed when seen as pests.

(The way a human views animals tend to say a lot about them.)

@NanoRaptor Definitely not a sea lion...

More seriously, several peacock spiders.

@JonnyT @NanoRaptor itโ€™s a shame about the new meaning, Iโ€™ve always had a soft spot for (wildlife) sealions and would love to live with a polite one. I donโ€™t have enough water to make it comfortable though.
@NanoRaptor Goat. (Are goats wild? Mountain goat if not.)
@xtoph @NanoRaptor my wife grew up on a small goat farm. She has tales of getting up some mornings to go to school and a bunch of goats escaped and are just standing on all of the cars and any otherthing that gets them slightly off the ground going "BAAAA" at them just to demonstrate that they can escape. Apparently goats are just mischievous like that!
@NanoRaptor Definitely wolf. I'm a wolf myself and I would fucking love being around wolf-bodied wolves.

@NanoRaptor

Raven, parrot, capybara

@jonhendry @NanoRaptor Oooh, raven! Good call!

@octothorpe @NanoRaptor

What I really want is a mismatched pair of animals who become best buddies.

@jonhendry @NanoRaptor I would totally watch a crow/capy buddy adventure film.

@octothorpe @NanoRaptor

There's a zoo in Belgium where you can rent a hotel room with a patio that looks directly out into the capybara enclosure.

@NanoRaptor Pallas's cat.
@Vaneshi @NanoRaptor They're so round.

@jackemled @NanoRaptor

According to a story/urban legend I heard they also make really good guard cats...

If one chooses you and is polite.

@NanoRaptor

Squirrels and raccoons. NO NESTING IN WALLS OR SOFA INNARDS. NO SECRET PEEING.

@NanoRaptor Jumping spider.
@dpnash @NanoRaptor in fact, there are probably already a few in your house right now!
@NanoRaptor a barn owl. They are living in my barn and i'd love to have them as friends (as long as I can teach them to do number 2 outside only)
@NanoRaptor so many other good answers! Iโ€™d switch to magpie except weโ€™re fortunate enough to have daily interactions with them already. Raccoon is excellent. Fox or bobcat would also be amazing.
@NanoRaptor snow leopard. Or possibly quokka.
@quadrivial @NanoRaptor snow leopards were smaller than I thought when I saw them in person. fairly manageable size.
@ad_infinitum @NanoRaptor I thought I'd read that someplace. Thank you for the confirmation! ๐Ÿ˜†
@quadrivial @NanoRaptor clouded leopards are even smaller. I kinda expected to be more like african leopards, but nope.
@ad_infinitum @quadrivial @NanoRaptor oh my god, polite snow or clouded leopard would be just lovely
@NanoRaptor everyoneโ€™s friend, the capybara.

@NanoRaptor

A Blue Whale.
It can have one half of the sink

@NanoRaptor Clouded leopard. One of these guys

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/facts/clouded-leopard

Ones you see at zoos and animal rescue places are very friendly with their keepers, so I imagine I'd have no trouble with it. Plus it's a cat. Cats are always cool.
