Liberal responses to this, while well meaning, often make me sick. “Well just piss on the floor then!” “This is a distraction.” “What will their reaction be when a passing woman enters a mens bathroom, that will sure show them.” Like none of this makes it better. It’s not funny, it’s not a gotcha.

No. Trans people won’t start peeing on the floor. They’ll either get arrested or leave the state. It’s not a distraction. They really do hate us and want us gone and it’s the main event. The reaction will be assault or arrest. There. Now you know.

@erininthemorning.com I mean, I would piss on the floor of the KY Walmart I work at for the sake of making a point if anyone would ever say that to me.

Where do they expect me to go? I'm not going into a men's bathroom, and I sure as hell cant afford to move.

@erininthemorning.com Yeah it doesn't feel like a gotcha moment to be used as a pawn by cismen who don't actually give a hoot about protecting women and children. It doesn't feel like a gotcha moment when you're a bulky bearded transman going into a women's restroom. It feels like you are being forced to violate the rights and privacy of the actual women and girls who are in there. It feels awful.
@erininthemorning.com I've even considered what it would take to collect the supplies needed to install a catheter on myself as I'd rather risk the health complications of that, over violating the spaces used by women and girls. It is so bleak.
@erininthemorning.com This makes every woman unsafe. And gives a lot a leeway for pervs sizing women up, determining if they are a desired type of woman. :(
@erininthemorning.com at the place I work the toilets aren't gendered. They are just rooms with a toilet seat that you can lock. ( Frankly the door is a proper good door too ). Maybe removing the gender from the toilets could make this less applicable? As in like, if you are a business owner?

@blenderdumbass @erininthemorning.com

We need practical solutions. Not something that's completely out of reach.

You're assuming good intent from business owners. But that doesn't exist.

Every time you walk into a building, check if they have a pride flag posted on or near their door. If there isn't one, assume they wouldn't be willing to do this.
