When I got into computers, I didn’t know how the sausage was made. I just knew there were products in the store to buy.

Now that I’ve learned the abuse and ruthlessness of these companies toward their employees, contractors, and suppliers, I don’t feel good about it. I don’t think the ends justify the means. I’m not sure it was worth it just so that we could have cool gadgets.

None of it had to be done. The deadlines were artificial. It wasn’t life or death, no Manhattan Project.

Liberal responses to this, while well meaning, often make me sick. “Well just piss on the floor then!” “This is a distraction.” “What will their reaction be when a passing woman enters a mens bathroom, that will sure show them.” Like none of this makes it better. It’s not funny, it’s not a gotcha.
