All "punk genres in 60 seconds.
I'm currently playing the Horizon: Forbidden West video game (I just got the Burning Shores DLC), the series the last clip is from, and I'm not sure I'd label it "Solarpunk", given that the world is the result of a devastating war caused by a tech bro pushing a bug to production. But if it weren't for the world-destroying antagonists, it does seem a bit idyllic. Big Hero 6 is a better example of Solar Punk. #SolarPunk #HorizonForbiddenWest

@dan613
I understand the sentiment, but I think solarpunk as a genre is inclusive of both.

Solarpunk describes positive futures, but we often also see the term applied to describe post-apocalyptic and even dystopian settings if the themes are clearly articulating an advocacing for animist, collectivist, sustainable solutions to the presented problems.

@dan613 what a cool video!

on my phone it played at 5000x speed for some reason πŸ˜‚ I am going to check it out again later once I charge my phone

@falcennial Even at 1x speed it goes a bit fast. So many genres!
@dan613 I hadn't heard of many of those genres and was getting increasingly annoyed until the very last one.
@Cassandra Yeah, but I consider them all warnings. The environment creates the narrative tension. Solar punk requires human interaction to create the tension with the environment just being a backdrop.
