So, I'm contemplating a 45-minute (one-way) drive for a job. My thinking includes my mom, who's 89, and doing great, but she's 89 and will be alone if I were ro tack on those 2 hours to an already 8-hour day. I'm feeling a lot of apprehension. Any thoughts?
@forestfern Hmm. Its a tough job market, so maybe you have to? However, I did the same commute for 4 months last summer and it about killed me. I'm in my 50s. It was just too many hours in the day. It was....not great.
@grizolda That's where I am, too: it would probably kill me more now than when I was in my 20s. The job market is tough so I began looking further away just so I could open up more possibilities, but I feel it's just not worth wearing myself out anymore.
@forestfern I get you. I took a job I think no one else wanted so I can look like I'm doing something while I am trying for better. Good luck to you!!
@grizolda Thank you.
Oh yeah, a filler job is good, keeps the mind & body moving.
