Just eyed my tangerine iBook tucked in the corner.

Anyone still keeping these running?
Could it even handle the modern web? Early wifi.

It has classic Mac OS, and I would need a power brick to even start it up. Battery? The power adapter had something akin to an RCA connection.

If I could get text files over to it, it had my most highly tweaked and useful regex packed copy of BBEdit I’ve ever had I loved to see again, along with other archaeology.

@Chancerubbage I’ll check out Nitro’s Blueberry later and let you know

@Snaggy how long do you reckon it’s been since it was last touched? I’m fairly certain I bought a MacBook Pro in 2009 or so that placed it on the shelf.

I’m afraid my charger power supply for it has gone to the land of lost socks powerbricks and cables. I saw one online for around 40 bucks (and someone asking 430 dollars on eBay 😳)

@Chancerubbage it still works!
@Chancerubbage I have an extra power circle here but for some reason the cord is cut and the plug-in computer side is missing. I’ll check it tomorrow to see if it’s outputting anything

@Snaggy

Wow I forgot it was running OS X., which I guess it always was, simply because the resolution of the screen was so low it made me think of Classic Mac OS. Certain fonts worked better before retina.

Of course my G4 which was earlier could boot up into either Classic or OS X, perhaps iBook could as well, but I doubt it- it probably needed OS X for the wifi.

I forget what apps I would flip back to Classic to use on my desktop.
