What is utterly clear to me: I’m not backing down or cowering in the face of Republicans Fascism or any other pressure to back off of civil rights, rule of law, and constitutional democracy. 1/
I’m heartened and bolstered by my community in the Fediverse, by my fellow activists in Santa Fe, and by my dear ones - all are people who give me support, encouragement, and resources to keep up the fight. 2/

I am firmer than ever in my resolve: I am going to do every last thing I can to oppose Trump and his enablers, politicians of any party who in any way normalize him, and anybody who does not stand for a U.S. government of the people, by the people, and for the people. 4/
I insist that my country live up to the aspirations and ideals of the Declaration of Independence. I insist on secular pluralist constitutional democracy, where no nobody but nobody is above the law..5/5

I had an intellectual understanding before, but it was the kind of understanding that still allowed me to go about my life, knowing that I should be doing things, but more often than not, not actually doing much
That is not an option for me anymore. I can't sit at home. I can't. It doesn't matter that no one is coming after me, personally, yet, not really. They are coming for my neighbors, my people, for what I want my country to be and a switch has flipped.
Now, going out and being active is easy, sitting at home alone is impossible
