#Misinformation warning

A story about seven dogs being stolen and then escaping to return home is spreading like wildfire on social media.

Even White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt has shared it to be viewed by 1.5 million people.

The problem is, the story is completely made up.

As CNN writes here, the story has even been debunked by local authorities — not in the US, as Karoline Leavitt thinks, but in China where the story originated.

@randahl Oh, bugger.

@davep @randahl

I was always partly sceptical about it, but given the original video appears to be real, if anything its at least a credit to Chinese motorists (and/or their civil engineering) that all the doggos were able to walk next to a 100-120 km/h highway with live traffic and all got home safely..
