Dear spammers and scammers over on Tumblr, I know exactly what you are trying to do when you start an unsoliticed message to me with "Hello, how are you doing". You are trying to get a conversation with me going.
Well, I am a neurodivergent person and I am not into small talk. So just tell my right away what you want (or offer), so that I can block you even faster. ๐
(Latest case was a guy who apparently is a paid beta reader. Not interested in that.)

Very good. This reminds me, I once read how a German bestselling thriller author (Sebastian Fitzek) answered a scammer's message creatively,
I translated it into English, the translation it in the ALT text of the image.
(I am not a fan of that author, but I liked this idea of his how to respond.)
@amalia12 I had a "sweet young thing" somewhere in Africa fall in love with me. the only hitch to our eternal happiness was that her mother needed an operation. So I started asking about her mother's overall health, really strung "her" along for a while... then I found a surgeon not far from where she purported to live and suggested she could raise more than she needed by having her mother sell some organs. "She" was shocked! Then I told her how much she could get for her entire mother, and darn if she stopped chatting!
My aim here was always to get onto a list of people to stop bothering that they share with each other. It might have worked, I really don't get that kind of approach anymore. ๐
