A cyclist was struck by a vehicle and critically injured on Haig Drive in central Ottawa Thursday morning. By afternoon, the cyclist was in stable condition.

@arem reminds me of back in the Twitter days when the ottawa paramedics account blocked me for criticizing their obsession with cyclists and helmets. Like someone was run down by a vehicle doing like 100kph and they wasted space in 140 characters to mention it. Sigh.
