I have to wear glasses for reading, screens etc. (long-sighted with astigmatism). Anyway, I'm finding I'm wearing them for more and more things as it's just comfier. I may have to just admit defeat and wear them all the time...
@kev free UV protection for eyes outdoors too
@kev Last year this hit me as well, same eye issues as you. My eye doc said just please wear them all the time. I’ve ended up with tri focals for everyday use and dedicated computer glasses. Took about 2 months to get used to it all.
@kev You and I are on opposite tracks. I'm near sighted, so I need my glasses for seeing far away. When I was younger, I just left them on all the time as it was no big deal to read with them. As I've gotten older though, I can't read with my glasses on anymore. My eyes can't adjust to the focus, so I've been taking them off more and more. I've turned into a stereotype of the old man wandering around wondering where he put his glasses down.
@mike @kev I'm 35 and can read with my glasses still but still put them down and then hunt around the apartment for 30 mins.
@mike @kev New glasses wearer here. Slightly nearsighted, and use some intermediate prescriptions for computer work. Got myself a fancy pair of progressive lenses which I thoroughly do not like. I think I need taller ones to allow for more room for the progressive prescription to really make sense.
@ErikSTL @kev My wife had the progressives and she just hated them. She just swaps between her normal glasses and readers these days.
@mike @kev that's likely what I'll do... in a year when my insurance lets me get new lenses.
